Bali Family Villas is an Australian company that assists people to book villas for short-term rent in Bali and specialises in accommodation that is suitable for families.
Bali Family Villas came to us to update their existing website because their current website was lacking a few important features that their users needed to make it easy to choose the villa that suits them.
- Dynamic pricing calculator – They wanted to allow people to calculate prices and long-term stay discounts based on the dates they’ve chosen.
- Live availability – They wanted to allow people to search for accommodation available between specified dates, and check the availability of each individual property through a calendar. This was a challenge as all the accommodation managers used different systems to manage their live availability
- Advanced search filtering – They wanted people to be able to filter the search results villas by price, dates available, number of bedrooms, location, and special features like Beachfront.
- Language converter – As some of their customers don’t speak English as a first language, they also wanted to add a language converter.
It also wasn’t showing off the quality of their villas, so they wanted to ensure that people could see large, high-quality images for each property while maintaining a simple design, where the images are the star of the show.
Ultimately they wanted to make the site very easy to use to get the best possible conversion rate, as they were not converting the traffic into warm enquiries and sales they had hoped for.
We redesigned their website from the ground up, a nice, simple design that let the villa images do the talking, and put a large amount of time into planning and implementing a filtering system and user experience that would ensure users could get the information they needed to make a purchasing decision, without having to ask for more info.
We built a user experience that allowed them to quickly filter the search results by price, dates available, number of bedrooms, location, and special features like Beachfront.
We also included live availability for each property by allowing them to enter an ical feed in the backend which we would sync our availability with.
We created a pricing calculation system where they could enter seasonal dates and prices in the backend, and the user would be able to select dates for the villa, and calculate the pricing for those dates including any discounts for earlybird, last-minute and/or long stay.
